Acer awaits Android 3.0 before rolling out tablet

Whispers have been going around that Acer could be working on one or even two Android-powered tablets, but instead of being introduced to the market sometime this year, those plans have been postponed as the company might be waiting for Android 3.0 Gingerbread instead of using Android 2.2 Froyo that is now starting to be released on a widespread basis. If this rumor is true (tub of salt, please), then it could be a marketing strategy as the company aims to differentiate itself from the competition, assuming that many Android 2.2 tablets have already rolled out by then. Of course, there is always the option of rolling the tablet out first followed by being the first tablet to have the Android 3.0 update, eh?
