Remember when we brought you the breaking story of the iPod nano being a fire hazard in Japan late last month? Well, it seems that Japan’s Trade Ministry has just issued an order to Apple’s Japan unit to offer a replacement battery to iPod nano owners who are worried about their portable media player catching fire. According to Apple, the fire hazard issue has been traced to a solitary battery supplier, so it would seem that all’s well that ends well. This is a classic case of prevention being better than the cure itself, wouldn’t you say so?
