Apple to look into jailbreak vulnerabilities

While jailbreaking your Apple device is now considered legal, there are some dangers that come along with it, with the latest twin threats being announced by French security firm Vupen who posted an advisory about two critical security flaws in Apple’s iOS. These vulnerabilities are being exploited by jailbreakme.com, enabling users to unlock an iOS device and installing software that has yet to be moderated by Apple. This is the first jailbreak that can take place on the device itself without the ned to run software on a computer beforehand, and has been described as “scary” as well as “very beautiful work” – it goes to show that there are always two sides to a coin, eh? Apple is currently looking into said security issues raised, and will probably come up with a fix in due time.
