Dev Team will not jailbreak iOS 4.0.2 firmware

Looks like Apple has won this time round, as leading iPhone jaibreak hackers known as the Dev Team will not be coming up with an exploit that will jailbreak iPhones running the 4.0.2 firmware. The reason behind this? They claim that they do not want to be drawn into a game of ‘cat and mouse’ with Apple – no idea on whether the legion of fans that the Dev Team has will be disappointed or not. While jailbreaking the iPhone is not considered illegal Stateside, Apple isn’t going to roll over and let anyone take advantage of that law over them. At least the Dev Team will be working on a hack for version 4.1 that is currently in beta. What do you think of this development?

Steve Jobs had envisioned that developers could create Web Apps that would run in the browser. This changed less than one year after when the iPhone SDK (software development kit) was introduced in October 2007. Today, hundreds of thousands of apps have been created for this platform. iPhone OS became iOS on June 2010. Interestingly, both iPhone and iOS were former trademarks of Cisco, that Apple now uses under a license.
