Eros tablet sports NVIDIA ION chipset

The Eros tablet from China is slightly different from the rest that we’ve seen so far, since it will be equipped with an NVIDIA ION 2 chipset which allows for decent video playback capability as well as the ability to handle graphics intensive software/games (to a certain degree, of course – we don’t mean it can play the latest 3D games in high quality without suffering from a drop in framerate). This 11.6″ tablet will run on an Intel Atom 450 or Celeron SU2300 processor, depending on your budget, while its touchscreen display maxes out at 1366 x 768 resolution.

Of course, when you choose the Celeron processor, its GPU option is limited to the GMA 4500MHD chipset, while the NVIDIA ION 2 chipset is available only when you pair it up with the Intel Atom N450 processor. 1GB of RAM is accompanied by a 160GB hard drive, not to mention HDMI, VGA and USB 2.0 connectivity as well as an SD memory card slot. Its 4600mAh battery does seem decent enough, although no benchmarks were taken to gauge its battery life. Prices start from $440 and go all the way to $600, depending on the configuration of your choice. While there isn’t any mention of its operating system, Android might be ruled out since there aren’t any back buttons on the hardware.
