Floating Wind Lens Farm To Increase Offshore Energy Production

Eco-friendly wind turbines might not always look good, but if you take a peek at the design of the Wind Lens, which is a new design for offshore wind turbines, you have to admit it looks pretty good. Aside from looking good, this design also promises that it’ll be quieter than the traditional models, not to mention three times as efficient. The layout sees the Wind Lens use a series of interlocking hoops with turbines on the edges which will focus the wind into the center of each hoop, increasing the amount of energy generated. The Wind Lens is expected to be installed off the coast of Japan in the next couple of years. Seems like it would be something really interesting to sail by if you were ever in a boat in the nearby area.
