Meego, the result between Intel and Nokia to make the best out of Linux, recently gained additional traction with GENIVI choosing it as the platform of choice where in-vehicle infotainment is concerned. Just in case you’re not too sure what GENIVI is all about, this is a consortium that comprises of several high-profile companies such as GM, BMW, Hyundai, Intel, Nokia, NVidia, ARM and Freescale among others. Meego looks set to go up head to head against Android as a free operating system, as there is also an outside chance of it appearing on an even wider variety of upcoming devices. Imagine your vehicle’s PC running on Meego remix, where it supports road-friendly technology including Bluetooth and Navit. Check out a video of Meego in action above.
