Motorola’s Droid 2 hasn’t been officially announced yet, but the device has been showing up from time to time, and now some folks have managed to get their hands on a unit long enough to benchmark it. If the results are anything to go by, bumping the processor speed to 1GHz seems to have helped quite a bit, as the Droid 2 running Android 2.2 FroYo nearly surpassed the Android 2.2-powered Nexus One. Hopefully with so all the exposure that the Droid 2 is getting, Motorola will see fit to announce the device sooner rather than later.
