
Mozilla Firefox 4 beta 3 is now available for all platforms, with focus on Windows 7 users as the primary aim since it will be able to take advantage of multi-touch input capability which is available on Microsoft’s operating system. Web developers are now capable of writing code made ideal for touchscreen interfaces instead of just assuming one relies on the mouse to get things done o the screen. All platforms will also benefit from an upgraded JavaScript engine which will represent values in a manner conducive to processing large amounts of numeric code, including math, animations and images. 34 languages can now jump in on the action of using the beta natively. Other improvements include a better web renderer, App Tabs, more HTML5 support with WebM video, crash protection against plugins like Flash, and a streamlined UI that places tabs on top.
