Nintendo just announced that it has sold about 400,000 Nintendo Wii and 254,000 Nintendo DS game consoles in July. According to the NPD group, that makes Nintendo the prime gaming hardware vendor in the U.S for that period. That’s not it: five of the top 10 games also run on Nintendo hardware (that’s where the real money is). Here’s the list: include Super Mario Galaxy2 (Wii), LEGO Harry Potter (Wii + DS), DRAGON QUEST IX (DS), New Super Mario Bros (Wii).Despite being challenged by new motion hardware in the living room, Nintendo is still doing extremely well with the DS and with its formidable stable of Franchises like Mario or Zelda.
