Padnote doing pretty well in Japan

Students are an enterprising bunch, and this lot from Japan have already had a company up and running, selling its Padnote – an iPad lookalike, and they’re doing pretty well at it at the moment. This is a notebook though and not a tablet, where it was developed and released by Gocco. Gocco is a start-up business which was established by students at the Institute of Advanced Media Arts and Sciences (IAMAS) in Ogaki, Gifu Prefecture, Japan. The notebook will come with gridlines to help it facilitate drawing, and while it boasts the exterior appearance of the iPad with its texture and control buttons, the internals are totally different. Retailing for less than $10 after conversion, it is no wonder it has done well, moving well over 2,000 units by the end of last month.
