PayPal Payments Coming To The Android Market

We previously heard that eBay was working to integrate its payment service into Google’s Android Market, giving Android users an alternative means for payment to Google Checkout. Now it seems that we might be inching closer to such a situation as reports claim that PayPal is already in the midst of talks with Google in order to get the details hammered out. That being said, nothing has been confirmed yet, and for all we know that deal might fall through. But if PayPal were to be accepted as a payment method it might help Google further challenge Apple’s popular App Store, which still dominates in terms of number apps. Currently there are over 225,000 apps in the App Store, compared to the 70,000 odd in the Android Market.
