A Microsoft representative has confirmed that Windows Phone 7 (WP7) will offer devices the ability to engage in multiplayer games between handsets and consoles in the near future. It was suggested that the phone-to-console functionality will be experienced in real-time via Wi-Fi. Aside from multiplayer gaming, WP7 users will be able to play mini games on their devices to unlock features that will be used when gaming on the console. Microsoft hasn’t said anything about phone-to-console chat yet, but users will be able to view and modify their avatars directly on the handset. Will the phone-to-console gaming capabilities of WP7 allow it to get one over its iOS and Android competitors?
