Qualcomm to deliver 1.5GHz dual core processors, excites smartphone community

The smartphone market has passed the 1GHz processor mark for quite some time already, but you can bet your last signal bar that it is the beginning of things to come, with news of Qualcomm preparing 1.5GHz dual core processors that will roll out in Q4 2010. Also known as the new QSD8672 chip, it was specially designed to see action in smartphones and tablets, which could also make a splash in new devices that roll out in time for the frantic holiday season. Apart from offering superior performance over its predecessors, the Qualcomm QSD8672 chip is tipped to deliver improved power management as well, including 1080p HD video playback capability and HDMI output.
