Razer introduced its BlackWidow mechanical keyboard at the Gamecom show, switching back to a traditional mechanical keyboard layout, which offers quick response and durability. There are actually three major types of keyboard–mechanical, scissor-switch, and membrane. Razer is claiming that its BlackWidow keyboard is better than other mechanical keyboards in that it offers a fast response and a mid-depth level of the actuation point so gamers don’t have to push hard.
The keyboard has fully programmable keys and dedicated gaming keys. The BlackWidow will retail for $80 and ships in September while the Ultimate edition will add backlighting to the keys, a USB port, and also a mic/headphone port. That version will go for $130. [BlackWidow roduct page]
