A freshly leaked document seems to hint that Samsung could be planning to introduce transparent AMOLED technology into its cameras. The technology would be used in conjunction with a traditional optical viewfinder, creating a heads up display (HUD) that would allow information to be overlaid on the display. The design, dubbed opto-electronic viewfinder (O-EVF), would allow users to get the best of both worlds, getting the clarity of an optical viewfinder, along with the benefit of having dynamic information displayed. It’ll be interesting to see if Samsung will be introducing such technology into its next batch of digital cameras.
