Solar power is the way to go as the world’s population continues to explode, leading to rising power costs as well as less area for the general populace to live in. Instead of dotting the landscape with nuclear generators, how about relying on renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power? That’s what Clarian Power, a Seattle, Washington-based start-up is working on, delivering renewable energy options in the form of solar panels and wind turbines for both homes as well as small businesses. The solar panels start from $600 upwards and can be plugged straight into a power outlet. Clarian Power hopes that their idea is the first plug-in solar power system in the world, and hopes to see it hit the market sometime next year. The beauty about this system would be its simplicity, and since it works with your existing wiring, it can be up and running within a couple of hours, not to mention having the flexibility of placing it anywhere else apart from your roof.
