Sony Considering Online Pass For First Party Games

Gamers out there might not be too happy to hear that Sony is considering an “online pass” program of its own. Currently Sony already approves of third-party publishers such as EA and THQ charging used games buyers to play their games online, and Andrew House, president of Sony Europe, says that the company is actively investing in a similar solution for its first party titles. House was quoted as saying “On the principle of making online portions of the game available or unlocked from the disc-based release for a fee, we’re broadly supportive of that,” Whether this will affect how folks want to trade/sell their used games in the future is another issue.
