Sprint Announces Samsung Epic 4G Pricing And Availability

Looks like the rumors were on to something, as Sprint has just announced the Samsung Epic 4G, which will be launched on August 31st for $249.99 after a $150 instant rebate and $100 mail-in rebate. The device is more or less a Galaxy S that has a sliding QWERTY keyboard thrown in, albeit with some differences here and there. The Epic 4G will be available for pre-order from August 13th, and customers will be able to pick up the device from Sprint stores on August 31st. Technical specifications of the Epic 4G include:

  • Samsung 1GHz processor
  • 4-inch Super AMOLED capacitive display
  • 3G/4G wireless connectivity with Wi-Fi hotspot support for up to 5 devices
  • Android 2.1 (with 2.2 FroYo on the way)
  • Bluetooth 2.1
  • GPS
  • microSD card expansion
  • 1GB ROM and 512MB of RAM
  • 1,500mAh battery
  • 5-megapixel camera
