The dual core Intel Atom processors were recently introduced, and manufacturers from China are already having a field day bringing new notebook models to the market – although it remains to be seen whether such devices will arrive Stateside or not. We’re talking about the TimesPad which can be powered by either a single core Atom N455 or N475 CPU or a dual core Atom N550 processor, complete with NVIDIA ION graphics support, an 11.6-inch display at 1,366 x 768 resolution, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi connectivity, a trio of USB 2.0 ports (why not USB 3.0?), VGA and HDMI output, and a battery which was stated to have a power rating of 12,000mAh – hopefully someone is able to verify that information since it is unusually high.
