Universities Use Wii Fit To Determine Concussion Recovery State

Nintendo’s Wii Balance Board might have more practical uses aside from just enjoying a light gaming session at home. Turns out that college football teams at the Ohio State University and the University of Maryland are using it as a cheap and simple method to determine the health status of players who are recovering from concussion. The schools use components of the game to conduct baseline testing of athletes’ balance, and the athletes themselves seem to love it, as it incorporates something fun into their rehab system. Sounds like a win-win situation.
