The Segway personal transporter makes life a whole lot more convenient for those who hate walking (or require assistance), but it is still electric powered – which means you will need to juice it up at a nearby power outlet whenever its batteries run low. Well, enter the Urban Wheels concept by designer Siqi Liu, where it will be a personal ride-on transporter which will rely on solar energy to help it move you around. An electric motor that is backed by a battery pack should be enough to be a people mover, although we’re pretty sure that there is a maximum weight limit to this as well. Two solar panels that measure 33” x 24.5” will do all the power collecting work for you, where the Urban Wheels will utilize a key card for activation with an adjustable handlebar to make it more user-friendly across different heights.
