US Dell Streak Likely To Get Android 2.2 And Skip Android 2.1

While the issue of when you’ll be able to get your hands on the Dell Streak tablet phone has been sorted out, many folks are still disappointed that the old Android 1.6 is shipped as default, especially since newer gadgets are shipping with Android 2.2 Froyo. That being said, there is some good news, as word is that Dell might be skipping Android 2.1 altogether for the US Streak and will instead jump straight to Android 2.2 Froyo when the update is released, which offers better features and performance. The bad news is that there doesn’t seem to be a timeframe for the potential release, but we’re looking forward to seeing Froyo arrive on the Streak.
