The Motorola Droid 2 was just announced over at Verizon, and here is news on a new Droid variant later this year – the Motorola Droid Pro. The Droid Pro did show up on the Verizon Wireless roadmap leak earlier in the week, where this high end model will run on the Android platform – version 2.2 we hope, sport a 1.3GHz processor which will make it the fastest Android smartphone in terms of hardware to date, and is touted to be the first handset in the entire Droid range to be used outside of the US. That would place it squarely under the category of being a worldphone, where it can play nice with Verizon’s CDMA networks as well as GSM networks aross Europe ans Asia. You can expect it to come with a 4″ touchscreen display as well to keep up with the rest. No idea on pricing, but November 2010 is the tentative release date at press time.
