Xerox DocuMate 3460 lets you scan plastic ID cards in a jiffy

Xerox Corporation has just unveiled a new color sheetfed scanner so new, that it isn’t even up on the company website yet as at press time. Yes sir, we’re talking about the Xerox DocuMate 3460 that is compact enough to fit onto a desktop, and has been specially optimized to scan ID cards while boasting ultrasonic double-feed detection technology. Capable of scanning 60 pages per minute and 120 images per minute in duplex mode, the Xerox DocuMate 3460 will retail for $1,595. It will be in its element when scanning plastic ID cards, business cards, documents or other heavy card stock, thanks to an exclusively designed front-feed tray which will make plastic card scanning a whole lot more efficient, it lasts longer as well thanks to the reduction of roller wear by up to 60% when compared to other brands. Other hardware specifications include an optical resolution of 600 dpi, a hi-speed USB 2.0 interface, bundled TWAIN and ISIS certified drivers, Kofax VRS, Nuance PaperPort, and Nuance OmniPage Pro software.
