Air Hopper Grasshopper Robot

The folks over in Japan seem to have an obsession for robots and next up is the Air Hopper, a robotic grasshopper developed at the Tokyo Institute of Technology. This four-legged robot is capable of rolling around on its four wheels but is also capable of jumping over obstacles by using its built-in pneumatic cylinders. The Air Hopper has been able to jump as far as 70cm forward and 40cm high. The robot’s body is made from reinforced plastic and measures in at 129cm long, 52.5cm tall, and weighs 32.4kg.
