And by this, we do not mean having Android smartphones being used while one is in the air – that’s common enough with million of Froyo and Eclair devices taking to the skies each day around the world. What we’re looking into would be a company known as Thales, an in-flight entertainment and connectivity (IFEC) manufacturer, bringing the Android operating system to a new touch passenger media unit (TouchPMU) which will keep you entertained thirty thousand feet off the ground. Thales isn’t alone in this though, as Panasonic has also announced their intention of using Android for its next IFEC system.
