Apple’s Remote app is now in version 2.0, where it will play nice with not only the iPhone and iPad, although it will include support for the new iOS-based Apple TV apart from iTunes on OS X. You won’t find the interface veering too far away from what you’re familiar with though, where it will include a trackpad-like display for ATV remote control and an iPod-like interface which will certainly bode well for more direct media playback, albeit being optimized for the Retina display this time around. Since it is free, we don’t see any reason not to go ahead and grab it for yourself.
