Apple to Offer Only Free Bumpers After iPhone 4 Case Program Ends

Apple had begun offering free cases and bumpers this summer in response to the “Antennagate” issue on the iPhone 4 along with a no restocking fee return policy for dissatisfied customers. The company had said that the free cases program would end on September 30th, at which point the company would re-assess the situation, and now it seems that Apple has a more official policy on handling the free case program after September 30.

After 9/30, customers will only be eligible to request a free bumper through AppleCare. Apple won’t be making select third-party iPhone 4 cases available for free as part of its Case Program pre-9/30. Also, the no restocking fee return policy will also end for iPhone 4s purchases after September 30th. According to Apple, “For everyone else, we are discontinuing the free case program on all iPhone 4s sold after September 30, 2010. We are also returning to our normal returns policy for all iPhone 4s sold after September 30. Users experiencing antenna issues should call AppleCare to request a free Bumper case.”
