Asus Eee PC 1015PN to rock with NVIDIA ION graphics next month

Asus intends to inject a subtle yet potent ingredient into its Eee PC 1015PN from next month onwards, where it will come armed with NVIDIA ION graphics alongside a choice of either a 1.83GHz Intel Atom N475 single core processor or a 1.5GHz Intel Atom N550 dual core processor. It will not look too different from the Eee PC 1015PED and 1015PEM physically, sporting a similar chiclet-style keyboard as well as matte touchpad finish, but you can expect a higher resolution which stands at 1366 x 768 pixels. Windows 7 Home Premium will be the operating system of choice instead of Windows 7 Starter unlike other Eee PCs. While it ought to be able to handle 1080p HD video playback without missing a beat, don’t expect it to deliver similar graphical performance that is found on larger notebooks equipped with the latest NVIDIA ION chips. We do not have an idea on pricing, but it is available for pre-order in France for 399 Euros, so that should give us a pretty good idea on how much it ought to cost when it arrives Stateside.
