Blu-ray 3D Disc Playback Support Coming To PS3 On Sept 21st

Sony has announced that the PS3 will be getting the 3.50 firmware update on September 21st, and with it, the ability to playback 3D content on Blu-ray 3D discs. The update will allow all 38 million PS3s worldwide to be compatible with Blu-ray 3D discs, expanding on the console’s current ability to play stereoscopic 3D games (via the 3.30 firmware update). Aside from the support for Blu-ray 3D discs, there should be other features in the 3.50 firmware update too, though we’ll have to be patient and wait for Sony to release the full details of the 3.50 firmware update in due time.
