Clearwire WiMAX Almost Ready To Go In New York City

With Sprint’s WiMAX service going live in San Francisco, Clearwire’s WiMAX service is almost ready to go live in New York City. Reports are currently going around that the service is already live, but Clearwire claims it’s still in the operational readiness phase of the rollout, which means that hardware is only being offered to customers in limited areas and not all hardware is available. While the service hasn’t been fully launched, the WiMAX service is still expected to go fully live in 2010, so this is probably just a temporary setback.
