ContourGPS boasts integrated GPS

It seems that the ContourGPS helmet videocam has just gotten an upgrade thanks to built-in GPS capability alongside a map which will be embedded within the video. This is made possible thanks to moving the switch on the camera’s top by around 2mm in order to make room for a GPS receiver right below it. While the Contour’s overall industrial design is retained, it does fall short in one department – this tiny change means it will no longer work with their own new waterproof case. Nice to see the software being revamped totally though, and the small Google Map located beside any video shot will certainly be a novelty item to come for years whenever GPS is activated, and any edit will see the map adjusting itself to compensate for any changes. Shipping commences this week, but you can place your $350 pre-order from today onwards.
