Boffins at fuRo (a division of the Chiba Institute of Technology) managed to cobble together a new prototype bipedal vehicle known as the Core, where it has enough strength to carry up to 100kg (220 lbs). This robot is not short at all by any means, hitting around 2m in height while tipping the scales at 230kg itself. Specially developed motors and shock absorbers were implemented into the Core prototype in order to make it ideal for carrying aorund heavy loads. While practical use of this in the construction industry is worth looking into, we think that military applications might consider the Core in more ways than one.
