DIY Robot Laser Tag

Want to have a robot battle with your friend? Instead of letting your painstakingly-built robots being destroyed by each other, you could use laser tag to find out which robot is better, which is what was done with these robots. Each of these robots sport an Eee PC, a laser pointer mounted on a movable arm, and photoresistors. The goal is obviously to control your robot and use its laser to hit the other robot’s photoresistor to lower its health points. A server is used to keep track of all the ammo used and other details about the fight. The netbook’s webcam streams video to the control station while an Xbox 360 controller is used to control the motion, aiming, and firing of the robot. Check out these robots in action after the jump.
