HP Photosmart eStation All in One printer gets detachable Android tablet

Who would have thought that purchasing something like the HP Photosmart eStation All-in-One printer would actually net you another peripheral in the process, where we’re talking about an Android tablet this time around? This might sound as tempting as the apple on the tree, but there is a price to pay – we’re talking about a lack of Android Market access, where apps and widgets on the tablet will be limited to customized print-focused offerings from Yahoo, Facebook and Snapfish among others. That doesn’t mean you can’t browse (and print) online content using the device’s web browser though, but it might not be such a pleasant user experience after all compared to a more solid Android-powered device. There was no shipping date attached to the Photosmart eStation All-in-One printer, although it would retail for $399. We are curious to see whether other hardware manufacturers will follow suit or not…
