JXD has just introduced its latest e-book reader, but don’t be surprised to find out that it does more than just help you flip through digital pages. After all, most Chinese manufacturers tend to throw in more than you bargain for, although build quality and the user interface can be questionable at times. We’re talking about dual SIM slots for cell phones for a long time now already, and the latest JXD e-book reader will feature a full color touchscreen display as well as support for full HD movie playback in a wide range of file formats. Not only that, it will also handle nine reading profiles as well as deliver Text-to-Speech capability. We do wonder why they left out Wi-Fi connectivity since that would have been a staple in many e-book readers these days, and the lack of a keyboard might be disappointing for some. No idea on pricing or availability at press time, but it might come with a 5,000 book package upon purchase. We hope to see this walk through the hallways of the FCC then.
