Magellan RoadMate 3065 GPS navigation system now available

Magellan might have annouinced its RoadMate 3065 GPS navigation system a few months ago, and it has taken that long to arrive in the market, where you can pick it up from Best Buy or Amazon.com for $199.99. Just what does the Magellan RoadMate 3065 offer? Well, this premium 4.7-inch navigator will target students as its primary audience, although folks from all walks of life could also make do with it to help them get around town. Features include advanced Bluetooth connectivity, built-in AAA Member Roadside Assistance for safety, free Lifetime Traffic updates for real-time traffic information, the special Traffic Wake-up function that ensures it is ready before you step out of the door, helping you avoid traffic jams, detours and construction zones. Apart from that, finding places of interest in unfamiliar territory shouldn’t be too much of a problem since there are millions of points of interest to choose from. Sounds like a decent deal, but with the advent of free navigation on smartphones, would dedicated GPS units be relevant any more? [Press Release]
