Microsoft has stated that it will make Windows Phone 7 available only on GSM/HSPA networks, which means those who are rocking to the CDMA network will be left out in the cold. With that news, it means five of the seven largest U.S. wireless carriers fall under the category, with AT&T being touted to be the “premiere launch partner” for Windows Phone 7, although the door is still open to T-Mobile as a possible partner. One thing’s for sure though, Verizon Wireless, Sprint, US Cellular, Cricket, and MetroPCS will miss the Windows Phone 7 party since they all rely on the CDMA system, and support for that network will not happen until 2011 rolls around.
