The folks at Roku must be working overtime as another Roku device has surfaced at the FCC, though this time the device is made by Netgear. It’s labeled the Roku XD Player, bearing the model number NTV250, featuring 802.11 b/g/n, HDMI, composite, and Ethernet connectivity. It wasn’t mentioned what the difference between the Roku XD Player and the previously reported Roku XD will be, but speculation is that it might be a client/server home media streaming platform, unlike your standard single set top box setup like the Roku HD. The idea does sound interesting, and we’re looking forward to see what Roku will be offering us.
