With solid state drives (SSDs) becoming increasingly popular, OCZ has announced its latest SSD, the Onyx 2 Series. These 2.5-inch drives claim to be priced lower than competing products, but will still offer SandForce controllers that offer maximum read and write speeds of 270Mbps and 265Mbps respectively. These multi-level cell (MLC) drives will be available in capacities of 120GB and 240GB and will be supported on Windows, Linux, and OS X machines. Pricing of these new drives weren’t mentioned just yet.
