Panasonic Announces Its EVOLTA World Challenge III

Panasonic has announced that on September 23rd, a new robot designed by Tomotaka Takahashi (ROBO-GARAGE) will be used showcase the power of their new line of rechargeable EVOLTA batteries. Robots built by Takahashi have previously set Guinness World Records, and this time the challenge is to travel from Tokyo to Kyoto, which is a good 310 miles on the coastal route known as the 53 Stations of Tokaido. The stations will likely function as rest stops, allowing the robot to recharge its batteries. These new rechargeable batteries will be going on sale on October first, and considering that the robot will be on the road until December 10th, it should be getting plenty of exposure for marketing.
