
The PS3 firmware 3.42 is now available for your downloading pleasure, and while it does not add any functionality (at first glance anyways) to your system apart from the standard “system software stability” area, it will be required if you want to continue accessing the PlayStation Network or the PlayStation Store. Some folks speculate that this update might be a response to the jailbreak tool that made headlines recently – hit us with a comment if you’ve performed the jailbreak only to get locked in once again with firmware 3.42 installed.
