A RIM VP did make it known to the masses at the BlackBerry Developer Conference, that their QNX operating system which was recently announced in their new PlayBook tablet will most probably find its way to smartphones in the near future, and that would certainly mean a demis of the current BlackBerry operating system. Needless to say, such a transition will definitely take plenty of time for it to happen, which would mean BlackBerry 7 will still make it before QNX hits the ground running, full steam ahead. The other question might be this – will BlackBerry as a smartphone still be around by then, considering their declining market share even as we speak?
