
Expect mobile devices to gain an unprecedented speed boost in Q1 next year, assuming Qualcomm’s new 1.5GHz Snapdragon will roll out by then. Seems that Qualcomm is really doing its level best to get the Snapdragon processor into tablets and handheld devices of the future, simply because it will have rivals in the form of the NVIDIA Tegra 2 and Intel Moorestown platforms. Whatever the case is, a 50% jump in processor speed over today’s 1GHz smartphone processors is certainly impressive – will software developers write in a way to take advantage of the new speed?
