Samsung Super AMOLED display undergoes testing

DisplayMate was curious enough to check out just how well Samsung’s Super AMOLED display will stack up against the rest of the competition by putting it through its paces against other mobile displays. To summarize this effort, Super AMOLED had excellent viewing angle and improved power consumption, but when compared to a LCD display, the colors are gaudy and oversaturated which is a bummer. Apart from that, PenTile arrangement of the OLEDs also do cause such a situation to happen – resulting in great looking images, but pixels when text is viewed. Things can only get better from here we hope, so no point boycotting Super AMOLED displays just yet.
