If the recent version 3.50 firmware update for your PS3 that enabled Blu-ray 3D discs wasn’t enough to satisfy your appetite for 3D media, Sony has a little something extra to make you happy. The company has announced a new PlayMemories application that will be available for download from the PlayStation Store in late September, allowing you to view both 2D and 3D photos captured with a 3D-compatible camera such as Sony’s NEX-5/NEX-3, WX5, and TX9. The app itself wasn’t shown, but considering we’re nearing the end of September, you should expect it to show itself pretty soon.
