T-Mobile’s G2 which will take over where the G1 left off, has already been tipped to hit the market come this September 29th. We also know that it will run on a powerful Qualcomm chipset with Android 2.2 Froyo as the operating system of choice to remain up to date. Originally touted as the HTC Vision, other specifications of this smartphone would include a 3.7-inch touchscreen display, a side-sliding QWERTY keyboard, a 5-megapixel autofocus camera and HSPA+ network support. It will apparently retail for $199.99 on a 2-year contract, although there is still a chance of a $50 mail-in rebate sneaking through the deal, placing it on par with the price that all major US carriers are bent on keeping where high-end smartphones are concerned. If you prefer to pick up the G2 sans contract, that will cost you $499.99 – that leaves you with slightly more than 3 weeks to pony up the dough!
