TerreStar Genus Hybrid Satellite Phone Now Available On AT&T

We already knew of the TerreStar Genus a while back, but it’s taken some time to arrive, and now AT&T has finally announced the availability of this Windows Mobile 6.5.3-powered phone. Still, if you’re having trouble getting a GSM connection but don’t want a separate satellite phone, this might be exactly what you’ve been looking for. It’s currently only available to business and government users and they will have to shell out $799 for the phone, while the satellite service will cost $25/month not inclusive of your minutes, messages, and data charges which will set you back 65 cents, 40 cents, and 5 dollars (per megabyte) respectively.
