Toshiba has introduced a new family of portable external hard drives, dubbed the Canvio Basics. If the name itself didn’t give it away, the drives offer a no-frills and cheap way for you to acquire an external hard drive. The drives will be available in capacities of 320GB, 500GB, and 750GB, setting you back $80, $100, and $120 respectively. A USB 2.0 connection is available on each drive, though we’d prefer USB 3.0 for speedy data transfers. Other features include an internal shock sensor, ramp-loading technology, and a three-year warranty.
